AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am unveils ’22 official poster, artist

The First Call, January 12, 2022

MONTEREY, Calif., Jan. 12, 2022 – Jennipher Satterly, a painter specializing in golf landscapes, has created the official poster for the 2022 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.  Satterly selected the third hole at Spyglass Hill Golf Course as the backdrop with Monterey Peninsula County Club (MPCC), Fan Shell Beach, and Bird Rock all in view.

The painting, Satterly’s premiere creation for the event, will be used as the official tournament poster and digital pairings guide cover. The Pro-Am, which runs Wednesday, Feb. 2 through Sunday, Feb. 6, is staged over three courses – Spyglass Hill, Pebble Beach Golf Links, and MPCC Shore Course.

“I believe that painting is one of the most powerful ways to record and communicate history and that representational golf landscape is a rare and valuable treasure,” Satterly said. “As I painted, I couldn’t stop thinking about all the artists who have been attracted to this unique place, especially Robert Louis Stevenson and visual artists who were part of the Monterey Peninsula Art Colony in the late 1800s.”

Satterly, who earned her Master of Fine Arts degree from The Glasgow School of Art in Scotland, joins a prestigious group of artists – all with strong ties to the Monterey Peninsula – whose works have represented the tournament over the years. The list includes Hank Ketcham, who created the Dennis the Menace comic strip; one of America’s foremost sports artists Scott Medlock; Donald Teague, an esteemed illustrator, and watercolorist; Eldon Dedini, whose distinctive style graced the pages of The New Yorker and Esquire magazines; Charles Schulz, creator of the comic strip Peanuts; and several other notable artists and cartoonists.

Satterly’s work has been exhibited internationally including at the Royal Scottish Academy in Edinburgh, Scotland. A selection of her commissioned work is in the archive collections of Mount Vernon and The White House. She is a member of the United States Golf Association, a benefactor of the Golf Heritage Society, and sits on the Board of Trustees for the New Jersey Golf Foundation. Satterly will be exhibiting her work in Pebble Beach Feb. 2 - 6 at Golf Links to the Past.  Posters are available for purchase at the Lone Cypress Shop and during the tournament in the merchandise tent on the 18th tee at Pebble Beach Golf Links.

“Jennipher’s three-decade love affair with painting is clearly evident in her exquisite creation for this year’s tournament,” said Steve John, CEO of Monterey Peninsula Foundation, which operates the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. “With her work, she continues to shape the personality and history of our event.”

After a one-year hiatus, the 2022 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am will mark the return of both celebrities and spectators to the event.  Daily tickets are available for the four-tournament rounds, Thursday through Sunday (Feb. 3-6), plus Wednesday’s “Community Day” at Pebble Beach Golf Links. The Feb. 2 “Community Day,” featuring special events and practice rounds, is complimentary but a ticket is required for entry. All courses are closed to spectators on Monday and Tuesday (Jan. 31-Feb. 1).

The tournament will be televised by Golf Channel and CBS. Fans also can follow on the tournament’s social media channels: FacebookInstagram and Twitter.
